Adore you, you know that, right?

Thank you for being a sounding board. And for being encouraging. And for giving me a prod every now and again exactly when I need it most *hugs you*.

Gah! This! I think you have reduced me to monosyllables and curse words to describe how I feel about this, so I'll spare you further commentary... Just <3

*beams* Monosyllables? Really? Wow, what an amazing compliment! Thank you so much, bb! I'm absolutely giddy that you enjoyed it that much!

You made my morning *hugs*.

Sorry I missed this when you first posted - this was a wonderful vignette. You really have captured Spock and Kirk's characterisations so well and I love how you portray Jim and his inner voice.

All that said, I love you for this: The day of Jim’s birth was to be hailed as a celebration of life, not an opportunity to mourn its fleet and fickle passing.

YES!!! It drives me nuts how everyone writes Winona as this awful grieving woman who pretty much blames Jim's birth for George's death and Jim as this kid who holds all this grief for a person he never knew. What you've written here is wonderful and perfect and exactly how I see it too.

So thank you for a lovely adventure and for the great characterisations. ♥

*glomps awarrington* Thank you so much! I'm so immensely flattered and ecstatic and thrilled to pieces and beyond that you enjoyed it.

Sorry I missed this when you first posted

*I'm* sorry for taking so long to reply to this. I had the most horrid migraine on Sunday, all of the insomnia I've been suffering from lately kind of caught up to me, I guess. And yesterday was one of those errand days where I spent the bulk of it running around like a chicken with my head cut off and very little internet time. Forgiven?

YES!!! It drives me nuts how everyone writes Winona as this awful grieving woman who pretty much blames Jim's birth for George's death and Jim as this kid who holds all this grief for a person he never knew.

THIS! If you could see me right now you'd see how emphatically I'm nodding in agreement to you. I just don't see the, forgive the expression, logic in a grown woman, let alone a mother, blaming an innocent infant for a happenstance the infant had no control over. And since you and I are both mothers, we both know how strong the bond between mother and child is - it's like instant unconditional love the second that baby is put in your arms. I mean, yes, I know there are some bad mothers out there, but unless Winona was a) a total sociopath or b) a total narcissist, which I just didn't get from what we saw, then I can't see her as being as abusive as fandom makes her out to be. I really don't get why everyone has it so out for her *shrug*.

Thank you, again, for such wonderful feedback. As always you have me grinning so hugely and feeling so loved. You are adored, just so you know *hugs*. :)

awww, yay! jim and spock kissing is the greatest adventure ever! well...at least the precursor to the greatest adventure ever, if you know what i'm sayin' ;-D
Apr. 4th, 2012 02:33 am (UTC)
lol, totally! As always, you make an excellent point. The adventure to follow the kissing was much more... adventurous of an adventure, in the grand scale of adventuring. ;)

Thank you so much for the feedback, darling, you are love!

PS: awesome icon is awesome

So it's taken me a week, but here's your squeeeeeeeeee!

This is so adorable. I love that you've turned the angsty birthday thing on its head, and I love Spock being all protective, and I swear my stomach did a little flip-flop at "the phenomenon is called falling." Just lovely :-)

Yeah, when I read your story this was already written and at the beta, and I too noticed the similar theme. I guess we both had birthdays on the brain. You know what they say about great minds thinking alike... ;)

Thank you for your kind words, darling. I'm so thrilled you enjoyed this.

For the record this is only the fourth trek fic i've ever read. 3 of them being the wifes :D

Loved it.
